Emergency Sirens & Testing

Emergency sirens are located at the base of the water tower on West Main Street and at Memorial Park on Eugene Street. These sirens are used to alert people who are outdoors that a general emergency alert has been issued.

The sirens will sound when a general alert is declared for West Concord or nearby areas. For more information, tune your radio or television to the Emergency Alert System station.

In addition to sirens, the Police and Fire Departments may use vehicle loudspeakers for street-to-street patrols to broadcast emergency information during a crisis.

A test of the City siren is conducted monthly on the first Wednesday. The test consists of a continuous tone lasting no more than one minute.
