What Volunteers Do:
- Training: Attend local training sessions, 1-3 hours, twice a month. Training is led by our officers or outside instructors.
- Maintain Certification: Keep up with your EMT, First Responder, or Firefighter certifications through monthly sessions or external classes.
- Respond to Calls: Respond to emergency calls based on your availability. Expect at least 1-2 calls per month, which may come at any time.
- Community Service: Help with special events, fundraisers, storm cleanup, and more.
Types of Calls:
- Medical: EMT or First Responder duties.
- Firefighting/Rescue: Involvement in fire and rescue operations.
- There's a role for anyone willing to learn and contribute.
Equipment:
- The department uses modern equipment, including six emergency vehicles, new firefighting gear, defibrillators, radios, and GPS navigation systems.
Training:
- Access to advanced training through the Southeastern Emergency Medical Consortium, state fire schools, and local instructors.

- Fill out an application form at City Hall and return it in person or by mail to: West Concord Fire Department, PO Box 586, West Concord, MN 55985-0586.
- Attend an informal interview with the membership committee.
- Complete a 6-month probationary period. A minimum one-year commitment is required.
