The City of West Concord is looking to revitalize and promote economic activity in its downtown by encouraging property owners to invest in the enhancement and rehabilitation of their properties. The West Concord Economic Development Authority’s (EDA) Façade Improvement Program will provide assistance in the form of deferred loans to eligible applicants for the rehabilitation of commercial properties in and adjacent to downtown West Concord– to help maintain a vibrant downtown that provides a sense of place for our community for years to come!
The Program is a forgivable loan program. For successful applicants, the EDA will lend up to 50% of project costs for eligible exterior-building improvements, with the maximum award being $5,000. Under certain circumstances, the EDA may consider awards in excess of $5,000 for renovations to historic commercial properties. Loans are awarded depending on eligibility, available funds, and completeness of applications. Once submitted projects are approved, the applicant pays the equity and public share of the project, and the EDA agrees to reimburse the public share of the project cost. Eligible property owners must apply and be approved for participation in the program prior to beginning property improvement work.
Projects must be completed within 12 months of the award date.
