In September 2025, a group of residents dedicated to building a stronger West Concord Area partnered with the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation to establish the West Concord Area Foundation (WCAF).
The Foundation is designed to keep philanthropic dollars local—making a difference right here at home. It supports local nonprofits and provides an opportunity for donors to leave a lasting legacy in the community they love. The mission of the WCAF is:
“To serve West Concord and neighboring townships by supporting programs and projects to improve the quality of life for people of all ages and build a stronger community for current and future generations.”
The Foundation is now ready to begin accepting donations. Gifts to the WCAF General Fund or Endowment Fund help support the Foundation’s overall mission. Donations may be made in the form of checks (cash), securities, or personal property.
Planned gifts are also welcomed, including deferred gifts such as bequests, life insurance, real estate, or retirement assets. Income-producing gifts—such as annuities, lead trusts, or remainder trusts—may also be directed toward a specific purpose or designated to support the Foundation’s mission overall.
