The West Concord Compost Site is open for the season beginning April 1st. Site hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.

To access the compost site, users must have a valid West Concord Compost Permit and follow all site rules and restrictions. 2026 permit applications are available at City Hall or can be downloaded from the Forms & Permits page.

• Resident Permit Fee: $15.00
• Business Permit Fee: $30.00 (for businesses providing services within the City of West Concord)

Businesses must provide proof of service to West Concord residents each time the compost site is used.
Only materials collected within the City of West Concord will be accepted.

Permits must be affixed to the windshield of the vehicle listed on the application.

• Tree branches under 3 inches in diameter and under 5 feet in length
• Leaves
• Brush
• Natural Christmas trees
• Garden waste (flowers, plants, etc.)

All materials must be removed from bags, boxes, barrels, or other containers before dumping. Containers must be taken with you when leaving the site.

The following items are not allowed at the compost site:

• Newsprint, paper, plastic, glass, metal, aluminum, or other recyclable materials
• Dangerous or hazardous materials
• Garbage
• Industrial waste
• Tires
• Chemicals
• Ammunition or explosives
• Corrosive acids or alkalis
• Sewage treatment waste
• Ashes or incinerator residue
• Toxic or hazardous waste including pesticides, herbicides, flammable materials, radioactive materials, and similar harmful substances
• Liquid or semi-liquid inorganic waste such as sludge, mud, paint sludge, or wash rack runoff

Improper dumping or misuse of the compost site is a violation of City Code and may result in a misdemeanor charge and fine. Please respect this service so it can remain available to all residents.
